Nina Mansfield

A little bit about me... 

I am a CT based playwright and fiction writer.  My plays have been performed in nineteen states, and in Canada, England and Ireland, and are published by Original Works Publishing, Smith and Kraus, One Act Play Depot and YouthPLAYS. My fiction has appeared in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Mysterical-E and The Chick Lit Review.  My young adult mystery novel Swimming Alone was a quarter-finalist in the 2010 Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest.   I am a member of the Dramatists Guild, Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, the Short Mystery Fiction Society and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

I worked as a professional actor for six years and I am a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild.  I hold a master’s degree in Educational Theatre with Teaching English 7-12 from New York University and a BA, cum laude, in Theatre and Sociology from Vanderbilt University.  I studied acting at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia and at Michael Howard Studies in New York.  I currently teach high school English and Drama in New York State.
